Adi Bar Soria
Adi Bar Soria is an Israeli conductor winner of numerous international awards. His achievements have led to performances at renowned venues such as the Gewandhaus Leipzig, Berlin Philharmonie, Tonhalle Zürich and Alte Oper Frankfurt.
He began his career as a resident conductor (Kapellmeister) at the Augsburg Theater and later worked at the Semperoper Dresden and the National Opera in Poznań, where he served as resident conductor and deputy music director. He has also conducted productions at opera houses in Mannheim, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Craiova, Gdańsk, Belgrade, Chișinău, Kaiserslautern, and others. Additionally, he worked as assistant conductor to Iván Fischer at the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
Adi Bar Soria’s productions have been widely acclaimed, including Wagner’s operas at the Markgräflichen Opera House in Bayreuth, Penderecki’s „Czarna Maska“ at the Warsaw National Theatre (in collaboration with the composer), and Verdi’s „Don Carlo“ and „Simon Boccanegra“ at the Craiova Opera Festival.
His repertoire includes „Otello“, „Aida“, „Rigoletto“, „Don Carlo“, „Nabucco“, „Simon Boccanegra“, „La Traviata“, „Tosca“, „La Bohème“, „Madama Butterfly“, „Fidelio“, „Cavalleria Rusticana“, „Pagliacci“, „Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg“ and Mozart’s Da Ponte operas.
Recent and upcoming seasons include engagements with leading orchestras such as the Augsburg Philharmonic, Budapest Symphony Orchestra, National Theater Orchestra Mannheim, Israel Sinfonietta Beer-Sheva, Thüringen Philharmonic Gotha-Eisenach, Moldova National Theater Orchestra, Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica di Lecce, Südwestfalen Philharmonic, and Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot.
He currently serves as Artistic Director of Art Stage Productions and the Schubertiade Frankfurt Festival. His 2024/25 season projects include productions of „Lucia di Lammermoor“, „Les pêcheurs de perles“, „Wiener Blut“, Tchaikovsky’s ballets „Swan Lake“ and „Sleeping Beauty“, as well as concerts in Bayreuth, Frankfurt, and Zürich.
Adi Bar Soria studied piano, Lied interpretation, and conducting in Berlin, Jerusalem, Madrid, and Frankfurt. He is a laureate of multiple international competitions. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed worldwide and made numerous recordings and broadcasts for SWR, Deutschlandradio Berlin, RSB, ARD, Kol Israel, and the Israel Culture Channel.
He regularly gives guest lectures and masterclasses at universities across Europe, including in Naples, Pescara, Kraków, and Gdańsk.
